What are the requirements to keep the Florida Medallion Scholarship during college?

June 14th, 2009
mel c asked:

I remember once reading that Florida Medallions only had to be a full time student to receive renewal because they were only judged by their high school grades but it seems almost too easy?
I had a pretty rough time adjusting to college and while I passed all my classes my grades weren’t exactly the best, so I’m worried I’m going to lose my scholarship. Help?

college/scholarships/grants and such?

hey everyone :)
i am entering my senior year of high school in the fall, and ive already started applying for scholarships, since i dont want to be one of the many kids who realize midyear that they still have to. so im doing it over the summer, and focusing on school during school.

im not sure how to find the right ones to apply for, so i went to the library and went through a bunch of listings.
mostly essay scholarships, since my strength is writing.
my questions:
(yes theres more than one)
i am able to apply and recieve scholarships prior to completing the FAFSA, right?
what are the odds of winning a scholarship? both national and statewide
..
and im still kind of confused on the difference between a scholarship and a grant.

im doing my best to figure it all out, but its hard and some things i still dont understand.
any help will be greatly appreciated :)
thank you

Will discipline issues in middle school hurt my chances for college admission?

June 6th, 2009
abcdefgh asked:

In the 8th grade, I got a referral (detention + call your parents) for giving another student my assignment and then denying it once we had been caught. I’m a sophomore now, and this is the only mark on my record. My parents keep telling me that this will hurt my chances for scholarships/college admission/etc. Is this true? Or will colleges overlook my mistake if I have a perfect record in high school?

Kate asked:

Right now I’m going into 9th grade and I run a 5:45. I also run a 2:32 800m. I’m trying to figure out how much I need to improve if I want a scholarship.
Thanks
